17.04.2023 • Launching the 2023 mid-career training programme

On April 17th, the Diplomatic School launched its 2023 programme for mid-career training designed for diplomats who have just joined Armenia’s diplomatic service. The programme started, with Nelly Saroyan as the trainer, with the session "The current state of the legislation regulating the diplomatic service of the Republic of Armenia". The lectures are delivered by high-ranking diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, lecturers and trainers from Armenian and foreign educational institutions. Apart from introductory modules, the programme includes lectures aimed at updating knowledge about the priorities of the foreign policy of Armenia, as well as developing professional practical skills.

28.03.2023 • Meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Armenia

On March 28th, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan, Director of the Diplomatic School of Armenia met with Marcos Gómez Martínez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Armenia (residence in Moscow). The interlocutors spoke about the activities carried out by the diplomatic academies of the two states and discussed prospects of cooperation between them. At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Gómez had a tour of the premises of the Diplomatic School.

16.03.2023 • Handing of the certificates to the graduates of the foreign languages training courses

On March 16, the Director of the Diplomatic School of Armenia, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan handed certificates of completion to the participants of the foreign language courses. This phase of language training started in October, 2022 and was completed in February, 2023. Apart from the language courses that are part of the ¨International relations and diplomacy¨, programme for future diplomats, the Diplomatic School offers courses in Azeri, German, Turkish and Spanish for those who are already in service.

03.02.2023 • Handing of the certificates to the graduates of the “Consular training” programme

On February 2 nd the Director of the Diplomatic School, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan handed certificates to the graduates who had successfully completed the “Consular training” programme. Ambassador Gabrielyan congratulated the diplomats and expressed confidence that the knowledge obtained during the programmee would contribute to their further professional achievements.   The Diplomatic School conducted its regular annual consular programme for diplomats from November 7 th to December 8 th . The programme consisted of lectures and discussions on consular service, passport issues, notary service, civil acts registration services, citizenship and visa-related issues, human trafficking and other issues related to the consular service.    

27.12.2022 • Students the YSU International Relations Faculty visit the Diplomatic School

On December 27th, a group of students of the Faculty of International Relations of the Yerevan State University visited the Diplomatic School of Armenia as part of an educational visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The students had a tour of the DS premises and were informed of its activities. The students were particularly interested in the process of admission for the “International Relations and Diplomacy” programme and the courses taught at the School.

22.12.2022 • Meeting with the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to Armenia

On December 22th, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan, Director of the Diplomatic School of Armenia, met with the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to Armenia Dr. Suhailan M. Khaleel Al-Joubouri. Dr. Al-Joubouri had a tour of the premises of the School, got acquainted with its activities and academic programmes. Perspectives of cooperation and implementation of joint projects between the Diplomatic School of Armenia and the Foreign Service Institute were discussed during the meeting.

29.11.2022 • Meetings of the Director of the Diplomatic School in Brussels

On November 28th and 29th, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan, Director of the Diplomatic School of Armenia, had meetings in Brussels with Fernando Gentilini, the Principal Adviser of the European Union External Action Service for the newly formed European Diplomatic Academy, and Bernard Siman, a representative of the Egmont Institute of the Kingdom of Belgium. During the meetings, issues of establishing cooperation between the Diplomatic School of Armenia and the mentioned institutions in the fields of the training of diplomats and scholarly research were discussed. "Nagorno-Karabakh: A Heritage in Denger" exhibition In the European Parliament, in Brussels, on November 28th, Ambassador Garielyan also participated in and delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition titled "Nagorno Karabakh: A Heritage in Denger", of which he is the curator and main author. 22.11.2022 • Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic School of the RA MFA and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam

On November 22th, a meeting was held in Hanoi between Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan, Director of the Diplomatic School of the RA MFA, and Ms. Pham Lan Dung, Director of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. The directors discussed issues related to the development and deepening of cooperation between the Diplomatic School of Armenia and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. After the meeting, an official ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic School of Armenia and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam took place. Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Vietnam, H.E. Vahram Kazhoyan also took part in the meeting.

20.11.2022 • International Forum on Diplomatic Training

Director of the Diplomatic School, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan took part in the 48 th International Forum on Diplomatic Training (an annual meeting of Directors of Diplomatic Academies and Deans of Foreign Service Institutes) that took place in New Delhi, from 14 th to 18 th of November. Heads of institutions of diplomatic training from 45 countries took part in the event, that was carried out under the title “Diplomacy for Development”. The participants talked about such issues as equipping diplomats of today to face the challenges of tomorrow, building partnerships for comprehensive development, regional and global cooperation in the post-pandemic world, sustainable development, challenges to reforming multilateralism, how technology is reshaping the world, soft power and others. 10.11.2022 • Handing of the certificates to the graduates of the second "Mid-career training" programme of 2022

On November 10th, the graduates of the second “Mid-career training” programme of 2022 of the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received their graduation certificates. Employees from different public agencies responsible for external relations, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh attended the training programme. Certificates were handed to the graduates by the Director of the Diplomatic School of Armenia, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan, who congratulated the diplomats and expressed confidence that the knowledge obtained during the programme and benefits of networking would extend their knowledge and skills and would contribute to their further professional achievements and improvement of their work efficiency.
